Looking for a good book?
We have several resources available to help you find a good book to read:
Personalized Reading Recommendations
If you want a personalized reading recommendation, then you're in the right place. Just fill out the online questionnaire, and you will receive 3-5 individualized book suggestions from a Provo Librarian.
Browse our top-pick lists, organized by genre or subject.
Clicking on the title of a book will take you to the catalog where you can see if the book is checked in. If it is checked out, place a hold request, and we will notify you when it is ready!
NoveList Plus is a comprehensive readers' advisory resource for fiction and nonfiction. It has extensive feature content, advanced search options, author read-alikes, professional reviews, recommended reads, genre outlines, and much more. If you're not sure what to read next, NoveList Plus will help you.
NoveList K-8 Plus
Designed especially for elementary and middle school students, NoveList K-8 is an online database with fiction and nonfiction titles chosen specifically to support the school curriculum as well as the pleasure reading needs of kids.
Library Staff Reviews
Librarians at the Provo City Library review the books they have read, including nonficiton and young adult fiction. Our favorites are labeled as Staff Picks or Audio Picks. If you want to avoid violence, strong language, or graphic scenes, look for the books labeled as Clean Reads.
Children's Book Reviews
Interested in children’s books? Well, you’re in luck because we have a blog for that. Check out our children’s book reviews written by our children’s librarians.
Ask a Librarian
If you come in to our library, feel free to ask any librarian for book recommendations. We love to help you find what you need!
